SNOWBOWL'S FOOD DRIVE NETS OVER 1 TON

Flagstaff, AZ – June 27, 2008

The Arizona Snowbowl hosted a food drive for the Northern Arizona Food Bank from June 14 through June 22, 2008. Over 1000 people participated in the food drive, bringing in more than one ton of non-perishable food.

“We are very excited about the amount of food donated and the support the community has shown. With the shelves of the Food Bank being quite bare, this will certainly help put food on people’s tables,” states Snowbowl’s Marketing Director, Dave Smith. “With the success of this drive, we are looking at making it an annual event.”

“This is an outstanding example of our community members getting involved and working in partnership with our organizations to provide food security for neighbors in need,” states Kerry Ketchum Northern Arizona Food Bank’s Executive Director.

Participant’s, who donated at least one item of food, received a free ticket to Snowbowl’s Scenic Skyride, which takes riders to the top of Arizona for spectacular views of northern Arizona.

Snowbowl’s Scenic Skyride is open daily through Labor Day weekend, 10 AM to 4 PM. Lunch is available at the Peak Side Café.
